Villa Markisa, Tulamben, Bali

Tulamben, Bali, is a well-known macro destination, with amazing muck diving. It also has the world-famous USAT Liberty wreck, and some great wide-angle sites. We did about 30 dives, which allowed us to get a wide variety of macro and wide-angle shots, as well as some super macro. Some of the highlights are shown below, though it was hard to trim it down!

Dragon Dive Komodo

Komodo was absolutely phenomenal wide-angle diving, over pristine reefs covered in fish. We had some great conditions, so this trip was very productive, and this is certainly a place we will be returning to at some point in the future! Highlights below:

Bali Hai Diving Adventures, Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida was another great dive destination for big animals and beautiful reefs. It did not disappoint. We were asked to focus on shooting divers is clear, blue water, with nice colorful reef scenes, and between Lisa, the manager and our dive guide, Bryan had some great dive models to work with on this project.

Devocean Divers & Hippocampus Beach Resort Malapascua

Malapascua’s big draw is the thresher sharks, which can be seen every morning around 6 am at the Monad Shoal. We saw lots of threshers, but photography was challenging as they don’t allow any strobe or artificial light use, and the sharks are deep enough that the natural light is quite weak (and very blue). Fortunately, Malapascua also had some beautiful wide-angle sites, as well as some great macro critters.
